Asbestos Surveys

PVES specialises in conducting thorough asbestos surveys. We provide both Management Surveys and Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys in accordance with HSE requirements (Paper HSG264). Our surveys are tailored to each location. This ensures that we effectively identify and assess any Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) on site.

In some cases, both survey types are necessary, due to changes in building function or refurbishment requirements.

Management Survey

The Management Survey is the standard assessment survey and aims to identify ACMs posing a current threat to health and safety during everyday operations.

This is a moderately intrusive survey and may necessitate access behind surfaces or superficial materials. Involving our surveyor in collecting appropriate samples for laboratory analysis, we can produce a full report. Using the information on the condition of any confirmed ACMs, we will devise management strategies for effective risk mitigation.

Refurbishment and Demolition Survey (RDS)

When proposed work to the premises involves disturbing the fabric of a building (HSG264, sect.50), an RDS is essential. Under current regulations, all Asbestos Containing Materials must be removed from the premises as far as is practically possible, before modification (See HSG264, sect.52 and CAR 2012). Our thorough RDS ensures compliance and safety, with detailed reports tailored to the removal process.

Asbestos Audits

We offer independent, autonomous site asbestos audits nationwide. PVES carry out audits on removal programs and individual contractors. We typically provide them as part of our project management service, assessing key legal requirements and promoting best practices.
